Symptom Most likely causes First checks
Weak output Battery state, hot connector, bad clamp Verify charge state and connector condition
No weld output Battery/charger interlock, lead-path issue Prove simple MMA baseline
TIG complaint only Torch/gas issue Prove MMA first
Intermittent cutout Battery protection, heat, connector issue Inspect pack state and hot points

Failure patterns and repair logic

1. No power / dead machine

  1. Verify battery charge status, charger status, and all ecosystem connections.
  2. Inspect visible connector and cable damage.
  3. If dead with a verified healthy battery ecosystem, escalate.

2. Powers up but no welding output

  1. Strip to basic MMA with known-good leads and dry rod.
  2. Inspect battery and output connectors for heat or looseness.
  3. If output is still absent, escalate.

3. Feed, arc-start, or cut-start problem

  1. For MMA, verify rod condition and work-return quality.
  2. For TIG-capable use, verify torch, gas, and tungsten.
  3. If MMA is healthy, keep the complaint out of the core power section.

4. Poor arc quality / unstable output

  1. Confirm the battery system is not near a protection or low-state threshold.
  2. Inspect current-path connectors and clamp points under load.
  3. Escalate only after poor output is confirmed with a healthy battery state and clean current path.

5. Gas and consumable related faults

  1. TIG-capable complaints still belong to torch, gas, and tungsten checks first.
  2. Keep consumable and gas-path faults separate from battery-system faults.

6. Intermittent or heat-related behavior

  1. Inspect connector temperature, enclosure airflow, and charger/battery-state history.
  2. If intermittent cutout follows high-load work, suspect protection limits or hot connectors first.
  3. Repeat faults with a healthy, cool system indicate escalation.
