Failure patterns and repair logic

1. No power / dead machine

  1. Verify actual branch voltage, switch path, and the condition of the current path before treating the inverter as dead.
  2. If nothing happens but rectifier DC is present, stay in the power-switch circuit or low-voltage supply branch before replacing the whole machine.

2. Powers up but no welding output

  1. If the machine powers up but has no usable welding output, split the complaint into OCV, clamp path, and actual arc behavior before deeper repair.
  2. If there is no OCV but the rectifier section shows healthy DC, the workbook points to the IGBT branch rather than the clamp or holder.
  3. A slow flashing power light can also mean a shorted fan or weak external supply, so isolate the fan and power source first.

3. Feed, arc-start, or cut-start problem

  1. Hard-start and no-start complaints should stay in rod, surface, clamp, and setup-state branches until those are proven healthy.
