Failure patterns and repair logic

1. No power / dead machine

  1. Verify the receptacle voltage and inspect the plug and outlet for heat damage.

2. Powers up but no welding output

  1. Inspect holder lead, work lead, and front connections for looseness or heating.
  2. Retest with dry known-good electrodes on bright steel.

3. Feed, arc-start, or cut-start problem

  1. Treat most start complaints as rod, amperage, or clamp issues first.
  2. Confirm the complaint is not caused by painted, rusty, or thin workpiece contact.
  3. If starts remain poor with correct setup and cool leads, escalate.

4. Poor arc quality / unstable output

  1. Inspect the entire current path for hot points: receptacle, plug, holder, clamp, and cable ends.

  3. Escalate only after the complaint survives a simplified setup on verified power.

5. Gas and consumable related faults

  1. This model is stick-only; most consumable-side complaints are electrode-storage or wrong-rod issues.
