Failure patterns and repair logic

1. No power / dead machine

  1. Verify battery state, cable tightness, and engine grounds.
  2. Check fuel quality, visible air-filter condition, and start-circuit behavior.
  3. If the engine cannot be stabilized after basic checks, escalate.

2. Powers up but no welding output

  1. Confirm the engine reaches the correct governed speed under weld demand.
  2. Inspect weld leads, lugs, clamp, and any feeder/remote accessory setup.
  3. If air and auxiliary power are also abnormal, stay in the shared engine/control path first.

3. Feed, arc-start, or cut-start problem

  1. Keep wire feeder or welding accessory issues separate from the EnPak base unit.
  2. Verify remote settings, accessory power, and control-lead condition.
  3. Many service-truck complaints are accessory-side or lead-side faults rather than base-machine faults.

4. Poor arc quality / unstable output

  1. Watch engine RPM under load for hunting or sag.
  2. Inspect weld leads and work return for heating.
  3. Shared engine-load management can make compressor or generator loading look like a weld problem.

5. Gas, air, or consumable related faults

  1. Separate onboard compressed-air issues from external shielding-gas issues if a wire or TIG process is attached.
  2. Inspect compressor output, hose leaks, regulators, and accessory consumables.
  3. Keep torch/gun consumable diagnosis outside the base package until engine and air output are proven.

6. Intermittent or heat-related behavior

  1. Check whether complaints appear only after extended service-truck use.
  2. Inspect cooling airflow around engine, generator, and compressor subsystems.
  3. Repeated hot-run instability affecting multiple subsystems should be escalated.
