This annex is for MIG complaints that become worse under load and are often misread as bad arc control, weak drive motors, or failing power electronics when the real problem is heat in the current path.

Load-based workflow

  1. Reproduce the complaint at the output level where it occurs.
  2. Inspect the current path immediately after the test while following safe shutdown practice.
  3. Compare steel MIG baseline versus spool-gun or special-wire branch before broadening the diagnosis.
  4. If feed remains smooth but the arc collapses, treat current path and gas path as first branches.
