Failure patterns and repair logic

1. No power / dead machine

  1. Verify actual installation voltage and platform configuration.
  2. Inspect power connections, visible damage, and airflow path.
  3. If the system is dead on verified installation, escalate.

2. Powers up but no welding output

  1. Confirm the system is configured for the process being attempted.
  2. Verify the correct package or option is active.
  3. Normalize to a basic process baseline before diagnosing advanced features.
  4. If all processes are affected, inspect supply, interface, and system-control path before attributing the issue to one process package.

3. Feed or arc-start problem

  1. Separate TIG, MIG/MAG, and MMA complaints.
  2. If only one process is abnormal, stay in that subsystem.
  3. If MIG is involved, inspect feeder package, wire path, and gas selection separately from the core system.
  4. If TIG is involved, inspect torch, gas, remote, and cooler integration separately from the feeder ecosystem.

4. Poor arc quality / unstable output

  1. Reduce the active process to a conservative baseline.
  2. Keep software state and option/configuration assumptions separate from actual power-delivery faults.
  3. On Fronius industrial platforms, configuration and package state are part of troubleshooting, not just setup.
  4. If the complaint disappears when the system is reduced to the simplest licensed baseline, keep the diagnosis in package/configuration state first.

5. Gas and consumable related faults

  1. Verify actual gas flow and front-end consumables in the active process.
  2. Keep TIG consumable and gas faults separate from MIG wire-path and feeder faults.
  3. Plasma-related iWave ecosystem functions should be isolated from the base welding processes if present in the package.

6. Intermittent or heat-related behavior

  1. Record exact messages or codes before power cycling.
  2. Verify cooler, torch, and remote integration and inspect thermal behavior after warmup.
  3. Escalate persistent software, integration, or thermal faults after installation and setup checks.
