Failure patterns and repair logic

1. No power / dead machine

  1. Verify actual input voltage and remove questionable extension or adapter arrangements.
  2. Inspect plug, cord, switch, and visible external damage.
  3. If the unit is dead on verified input, escalate.

2. Powers up but no plasma output

  1. Replace the torch consumable front end with known-good parts.
  2. Clamp to bright parent metal and inspect the work-return path.
  3. Verify dry air and adequate flow under demand.
  4. If the machine still will not start with known-good air and consumables, escalate.

3. Feed, arc-start, or cut-start problem

  1. Keep the diagnosis in torch front-end condition, air path, and clamp path first.
  2. If pilot behavior exists but transfer is poor, inspect clamp placement and coated-work issues.
  3. If there is no healthy start at all, stay in consumable stack, air readiness, and supply quality before internal-fault assumptions.

4. Poor arc quality / unstable output

  1. Retest on clean mild steel with fresh consumables.
  2. Confirm dry air and appropriate travel speed.
  3. Keep thicker-material complaints separate from lighter handheld baseline complaints because a marginal power path shows up fastest under higher load.
  4. On this class of plasma cutter, weak-cut complaints usually belong to air, consumables, or supply quality before electronics.

5. Gas, air, or consumable related faults

  1. Verify air quality, dryness, and flow.
  2. Replace worn consumables and inspect torch-front-end damage.
  3. Keep front-end wear and bad clamp contact ahead of internal-fault assumptions.

6. Intermittent or heat-related behavior

  1. Check airflow and recent duty-cycle use.
  2. Inspect hot plug blades, hot clamp hardware, and torch-front-end heat damage.
  3. If the machine trips or loses output from a cold start with known-good air and consumables, escalate.
