Failure patterns and repair logic

1. Normalize the machine

  1. Strip the setup back to basic DC TIG on clean steel or stainless.
  2. Disable pulse and aggressive AC settings.
  3. Confirm remote, gas, tungsten, and clamp before chasing software or power issues.
  4. If the machine behaves on plain DC TIG, rebuild the original complaint one setting layer at a time.

2. AC TIG complaints

  1. Reset AC balance and frequency to moderate baseline values.
  2. Use clean aluminum and pure argon.
  3. If the machine welds basic DC TIG normally but aluminum complaints remain, stay in the AC setup branch first.
  4. Keep pedal, torch, and gas-lens condition in the same branch before suspecting internal AC-section failure.

3. UI or internal fault behavior

  1. Record the exact symptom or fault.
  2. If the display fails, freezes, or never initializes correctly, escalate after basic power checks.
  3. A complex inverter with unstable UI should not be diagnosed by guesswork in the field.
  4. Treat repeated software or display-state faults as service-level issues once supply and accessory branches are proven healthy.

4. Remote, cooler, and advanced-setting complaints

  1. Return the machine to a simple manual baseline with no pulse or advanced program interactions.
  2. If equipped with a remote or cooler, isolate each accessory one at a time and note whether the symptom follows it.
  3. A complaint that disappears when accessories are removed should stay in the accessory path until proven otherwise.
