Failure patterns and repair logic

1. No power / dead machine

  1. Verify input power and a basic idle state before blaming the TIG power section.

2. Powers up but no welding output

  1. If the machine powers up but gives no usable output, split the complaint into TIG branch, stick branch, gas branch, and remote branch.
  2. If stick is healthy but TIG is not, stay in the TIG-only branch first instead of treating it like a shared power failure.

3. Feed, arc-start, or cut-start problem

  1. TIG start complaints should be simplified to plain DC steel TIG with pulse off and minimal accessories before escalation.
  2. Remote or pedal complaints on this model should be checked against the documented 4K7 potentiometer value before any board replacement.
  3. If only one pedal or remote path changes the complaint, stop there and prove the accessory branch before any control-PCB decision.

4. Poor arc quality / unstable output

  1. Poor arc quality should stay in gas, tungsten, torch-front-end sealing, and AC/DC setup state until those are proven healthy.
  2. If DC TIG is clean but AC is unstable, keep the diagnosis in AC mode setup, torch front end, and AC branch evidence rather than broad machine failure language.

5. Gas, air, or consumable related faults

  1. Gas, consumable, and remote complaints are the first-line false-fault branches on compact TIG systems.
  2. If a known-good regulator or hose removes the complaint, stop there and use the official gas-side parts path before deeper repair.

6. Intermittent or heat-related behavior

  1. If the complaint appears only after warm-up, inspect gas flow stability, torch heating, and remote branch behavior before internal repair.
