Opening Prompt

• "A CoolArc200 is on 220 V but seems to act like 110 V, and the OCV looks low. What do you prove before you open the machine?"

What To Listen For First

• the trainee should say actual connected input and mode state first
• they should mention J3 pins 2 and 7 as the clean split between sense and indication

Redirect Questions

• if they rush into the machine: "What does low OCV mean on this model if VRD or wake-up behavior is active?"
• if they ignore startup blink: "What other branch is still active if the fan or display startup is abnormal?"

Strong Answer Markers

• they use the measurement card before the opening map
• they separate input sense from panel indication
• they keep startup blink and fan behavior in play instead of discarding it

Common Failure Modes

• calling the output section dead before mode-state proof
• opening the machine without a clean input story
• forgetting that the fan branch can still mimic a control fault

Debrief Notes

• reinforce that this model punishes rushed diagnosis because state, input sense, and startup behavior overlap
• internal opening is justified only after J3 behavior and mode interpretation are already clean
