A220 Board Opening Map

This is the fast internal opening map for A220 once utility-path, clamp, and holder branches are already bounded.

Open Only After Proving

stable 208/230 V class source is already proven, ideally on a true 50 A branch or healthy 5 kW generator baseline
known-good clamp and holder path are already proven
dry 7018 or 6010/6011 proof rod is already tried
lead polarity is already matched to the actual rod test
the complaint is already separated between utility sensitivity, current-path heating, or true output weakness

Do not open the machine while a weak source or hot clamp path still explains the complaint.
Keep top-end-only complaints in the source branch until a real 230 V proof is completed.
Do not open the machine for an improvised TIG complaint because A220 is officially not recommended for TIG welding.
Do not treat wrong DCEN / DCEP lead placement like a board failure.
The workbook note for A220 is intentionally simple: contact-path correction solved the complaint before electronics.

If the opening pass shows the complaint still follows the clamp, holder, or utility-side branch, leave the board path and use the official ordering flow instead.

Stop if a stronger source or shorter cord changes the complaint.
Stop if correct polarity and known-good 7018 or 6010/6011 proof rod remove the complaint.
Stop if the machine is being evaluated as TIG, because A220 is officially not recommended for TIG welding.
Stop if current-path heating clearly explains the failure.
