Use This Guide For

Opening Prompt

• "A PulseWave200 shows all 8s after an arc event and TIG will not restart cleanly. What do you prove before you open it?"

What To Listen For First

• the trainee should say torch negative, base torch only, sane gas flow, and reset-state path first
• they should explicitly keep remote-only complaints outside the machine until bounded

Redirect Questions

• if they rush into HF hardware: "What would a correct base TIG setup look like first?"
• if they ignore the display clue: "What does all 8s suggest before a board is condemned?"

Strong Answer Markers

• they use the restore-default path before naming a failed board
• they separate AC-only failure from base TIG failure
• they keep remote and pedal complaints outside the machine until proven otherwise

Common Failure Modes

• jumping to HF-board suspicion before polarity or gas proof
• ignoring the panel-state clue because the machine still powers
• mixing remote-only, AC-only, and panel-state complaints into one vague diagnosis

Debrief Notes

• reinforce that state and accessory behavior are primary branches on this model, not cleanup work
• internal opening is justified only after reset-state, torch path, and remote path are already bounded
