MultiSonic220 MIG-Dead Drill
Drill Goal
- teach the trainee to keep MIG-only complaints out of shared power-source diagnosis until polarity and accessory paths are proven
- teach the correct order from measurement card to parts substitution to internal map
Starting Scenario
- Model:
MultiSonic220
- Complaint: stick and TIG work, but MIG has no output and the operator reports flashing lights earlier in the week
- Arrival condition: a spool gun and a regular MIG torch are both in the case
Expected Document Sequence
- MultiSonic220 measurement card
- MultiSonic220 parts substitution card
- MultiSonic220 board opening map only if the base machine still fails stripped down
Success Criteria
- the trainee says the first proof step is polarity connector and stripped-down base setup
- the trainee proves plain MIG before blaming the spool gun or main machine
- the trainee keeps flashing-panel evidence in mind without mixing it prematurely into the MIG-only complaint
Common Misses
- jumping to feeder or power-board failure while the polarity path is still unproven
- blaming the base machine for a spool-gun-only complaint
- opening the machine before base MIG and stripped-down process state are proven
Debrief
- The key lesson is that one healthy process is strong evidence. Use it.
- Internal opening is justified only after base MIG, polarity, and accessory paths are already bounded.
