Case Setup

Model: PulseWave200
Incoming complaint: "Display looked wrong, pedal didn’t do anything, and TIG would not start."
Arrival condition: machine comes with a pedal, TIG torch, and mixed notes from two operators
Hidden trap: the digital state and connected accessories are more likely to mislead the trainee than an actual failed control board

Trainer Prompt

Use this intake statement:

"Two operators used it in the same week. One says the display showed all 8s. The other says the pedal was dead and HF seemed inconsistent."

Only reveal these if the trainee asks:

the pedal may not be the original one
one operator switched modes several times before shutdown
no one reset the machine before packing it up

If the trainee skips reset-first logic, say the customer never powered the unit down cleanly before transport.
If the trainee questions the pedal, reveal it was borrowed from another bench.
If the trainee jumps to the control board, ask what has been proved about state, torch, and remote path.
