Incoming complaint: "MIG is dead, but stick seemed okay last time."
Arrival condition: the machine arrives with a spool gun, standard MIG torch, loose polarity connection, and no clear report of which setup was last used
Hidden trap: the trainee must not let flashing-light stories or accessory clutter pull the case into internal repair too early
Trainer Prompt
Use this intake statement:
"Customer says stick still ran, but MIG would not do anything. They also mention the panel flashed earlier in the week, so they think the machine is dying."
Only reveal these if the trainee asks:
the spool gun was installed for an aluminum job before the complaint
the standard torch was packed loose in the case
nobody documented the actual polarity or trigger setup when the complaint happened
